Volunteering Opportunities

Elective Ghana offers volunteering opportunities for individuals, couples, parents and groups in Ghana. These give volunteers the chance to contribute many of our valuable projects, whilst experiencing life as part of a community in Ghana. As volunteers you will have the extraordinary opportunity to create beneficial change and have a positive impact on people’s lives. We will encourage you to be creative in finding ways to develop and foster volunteerism for programs etc – both within and beyond the formal framework of your engagement. Your actions as a volunteer can also inspire others to volunteer and to believe that they too can make a contribution towards development in Ghana. Elective Ghana volunteers come from around the world and many more cultural backgrounds, and thanks to this wide variety of perspectives and skills they bring a range of experiences, expectations and approaches. This diversity gives their work a particular dynamism. We run a diverse range of projects, so whether you are a professional or a student, you will be able to find a project in a field that will suit your interests, experience or studies.

Elective Options

Orphanages/Child Care Centers Project

Elective Ghana has over the years worked with volunteers in supporting needy orphans, children, abused children and street children with a purpose of bringing meaning into their lives. By this commitment, you are permitted to volunteer in any of our projects we offer. Besides supporting the children in the orphanages, we give you support to offer guidance and support for families of children at risk of abandonment to enable them cater for their own children.

School Teaching Project

Elective Ghana engages volunteers as part of our efforts to support schools in Ghana to offset a shortfall of teachers in the local schools. Volunteer teachers are also employed to fill gaps in any specific subject areas that need support. As a volunteer, in one of these needy basic schools, you would be helping to carve the future of the young children. We believe that you have what it takes to teach young children in Kindergartens and Primary levels. Grab this opportunity to teach English, Mathematics, Science or ICT.
